Horizons Therapeutic Group Offerings
From time-to-time, Horizons is able to offer certain therapeutic group offerings centered in LGBQTIA2S+ lived experiences! These therapeutic groups are led by licensed LGBTQIA2s+ specialized clinicians, and cover many topics or modalities that may be relevant or useful to folks identifying as LGBQTIA2S+.

Group therapy is a form of therapy where participants become both the learners and teachers. There are different types of group therapies including "process groups" (focused on relational learning), "skills groups" (focused on a set of skills), and "support groups" (focused on a common shared challenge). Groups involve both the content of healing and the experience of connection as sometimes healing in itself.

These groups are often covered by insurance similarly to regular therapy sessions, and we additionally offer a few reduced fee spots in these groups we reserve for those from historically marginalized populations. Please see our current group offerings below!

How to Register:
-
Email our office administrator at hello@horizonsforliberation.com or submit the contact form through our website, and let us know you are interested in being a part of a certain group!
-
We gather your information, estimate your costs (through insurance if you'd like to use that), and schedule you for a 30-minute intake assessment screening with one of our group facilitators. This is to ensure goodness-of-fit for the group and amongst the groups' participants.
-
After the intake screening, you'll be notified quickly and fully registered for the group if we think you're a good fit. If we don't believe you may be a good fit for a certain group, we will explain this and offer other possibilities for the current time until a more ideal-fit group may be available.

After committing to one of the spots, you'll be given the rest of the information you need, and will start with the group as soon as it's scheduled to begin! Depending on the type of group it is, you'll be given the full information you need about the group's location, or information about how to access a video link for the virtual group.
